We seek a bright and motivated Human Resources Administrator to join our busy corporate team in Bellingham, WA.  Reporting to the HR Manager, we are looking for an HR generalist that loves working in a fast-paced environment to administrate all aspects of human resources for Alpha, including some payroll duties, office administration, employee relations, onboarding and offboarding, new hire benefit orientations, and event planning.

Our ideal candidate has a strong aptitude for prioritizing their workload and able to delegate work tasks where appropriate. They have the ability to keep a positive profile for internal customers and be comfortable standing up/speaking in front of others (benefits orientations/birthday celebrations/presentations etc.). Attention to detail is an absolute must.   



●  Communicates company human resources policies and procedures; responds to questions and concerns from employees and management

●  Helps administrate compensation and benefits, including partially self-funded healthcare plan, cafeteria plan, 401(k) plan, life and STD/LTD insurance

●  Assists and advises supervisors with processing all employee requisitions and placing external ads, internal job postings, and EEO postings

●  Prepares and presents offer letter packages and exit interview documents in accordance with company policies and practices

●  Administers pre-employment screenings and for-cause drug screens

●  Responsible for timely enrollment of new employee benefits and mid-year changes; provide basic information for all company benefits

●  Maintains open door policy for all employees; help maintain a positive employee and labor relations climate with open communication and employee recognition programs

●  Assists Payroll Administrator with payroll duties; including timely data entry into SAP and the payroll system

●  Communicates with and assists departmental managers and supervisors in decision making regarding personnel actions such as hiring, termination, disciplinary actions, performance management and promotions

●  Organizes periodic supervisor training

●  Assists with management of position descriptions within SAP

●  Manages relationship with temporary agencies and assists in processing temporary employees as needed 

●  Maintains confidential information regarding personnel actions, legal actions, compensation, separations, and organizational plans

●  Manages interim and annual employee review program 

●  Provides periodic management reports as directed

●  Assists in the organizing of employee appreciation events, including monthly birthday celebration, flu shots, blood drive, company picnic and winter holiday party

Requirements and Skills:

Education: Bachelor Degree or equivalent military training

Experience: 4 - 6 years in field of human resources or office management


●  Ability to follow written and verbal directions in the English language 

●  Detail oriented with strong organizational skills 

●  Work well under pressure

●  Current driver’s license and acceptable driving record

●  Understanding of employment law, including ADA, FLSA, ADEA, FMLA, state and federal wage and hour law

●  Ability to communicate with all levels of employees and management

●  Strong written and verbal communication and diplomacy skills

●  Ability to maintain confidentiality

●  Strong work ethic


PC Application Skills: 

Intermediate level: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook



●  PHR certification

●  Supervisory experience 

●  Prior SAP experience
