Description
Alpha Technologies, which provides world-class powering solutions, seeks an experienced Purchasing Coordinator to join its team in Bellingham, WA. 
Works closely with the field personnel and is responsible for general support of assigned projects.
 

RESPONSIBILITIES
 
• Purchases project material from all vendors and sources using SAP and other approved purchasing processes
• Purchases project services from all vendors and subcontractors
• Assists in bids, quotes and pricing activities to minimize project costs for material and services
• Provides costing detail for installation and services proposals
• Tracks and reports lead times, ship dates, work start dates and other scheduling data to all Alpha personnel with a need to know; communicates effectively with all departments regarding schedules, updates and issues
• Stays informed of issues and providing solutions
• Serves as the point of contact for all material and subcontractor activities for field Project Managers, Regional Construction Managers and Construction Specialists
• Creates and refines material and equipment lists for projects
• Monitors all projects to anticipate material and services requirements and preventing delays
• Expedites equipment as required; resolves shipping issues in a timely manner
• Negotiates satisfactory resolution to issues on Alpha’s behalf
• Performs all SAP functions to facilitate purchasing, invoicing and reporting
• Executes all relevant details of customer contracts, specifications and project office procedures
 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
 
Education: 2 year degree or equivalent military training
 
Experience: 4 - 6 years in field of purchasing/planning and/or project administration
 
 Ability to work without direct supervision
 Strong verbal, telephone, and written communications skills
 Team oriented interpersonal skills
 Strong proven leadership and project management skills
 Proven negotiations, listening and presentation skills
 Record of superior attendance
 Will work on-site (no tele-commuting)
 Detail oriented
 Strong organizational skills
 
Desirable:
 
 Bachelor's degree in a technology
 Familiarity with construction industry
