Description

Summary:
Test, troubleshoot, and repair products per specified test procedures. Perform calibration and maintenance on established test stations. Assist engineering staff with development of test fixtures and procedures.


Responsibilities:

  • Test all products per specified test procedures
  • Calibrate, troubleshoot to component level, and repair logic cards and assemblies
  • Set up, use, and maintain an extensive variety of digital and analog test equipment and fixtures
  • Recognize problems from test procedures and/or test results and make appropriate recommendations
  • Formulate solutions involving failure trends
  • Design, build, and maintain test fixtures
  • Perform calibration checks on electronic instruments
  • Interface with Engineering in the development of test equipment
  • Complete paperwork as needed including test histories, charts, and trend records
  • Assist in the preparation of test procedures as well as assist in quality and productivity improvement activities
  • Troubleshoot and repair electronic systems using schematics and other production materials
  • Provide assistance and training to junior test technicians
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area


 Additional Responsibilities may include:

  • Ability to apply conformal coating material
  • Ability to perform in-depth circuit analysis, analyze failures and trends, and formulate solutions
  • Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, bills of material (BOMs), and schematics
  • Proficient with oscilloscope, multimeters, automated testing equipment and software, and hi-potters
  • Ability to organize priorities and delegate tasks
  • Ability to prioritize work flow while working independently or as a team support member
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and management
  • Ability to provide training to promote development and build skills of test technicians

Job Requirements

Education:
2 year degree or equivalent military training
AA/AAS Degree in Electronics/Technician Certificate from an accredited technical source; must include digital electronics and microprocessor training


Experience:
4 -6 years in field of Test Technician

Supervisory:
N/A

PC Application Skills:
Basic level:  Word, Excel, Outlook, Windows Navigation and Keyboarding skills

Desirable:

  • 1 year experience as a Facilities or Maintenance Supervisor
  • 2 years industrial maintenance or building services experience
